Sky247 Exchange: Back and Lay Betting
How Sky247 Exchange Works
On a betting exchange, customers take opposing sides of the same market.
A Back order supports an outcome. A Lay order opposes it.
| Exchange term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Back | A position that an outcome will happen |
| Lay | A position that an outcome will not happen |
| Stake | The amount entered for an order |
| Liability | The maximum potential loss on a Lay position |
| Matched | Accepted against an opposing order |
| Unmatched | Still waiting for an opposing order |
| Liquidity | Money currently available for matching |
| Exposure | Funds reserved against possible losses |
| Traded price | The price at which an order was matched |
The Exchange differs from our sportsbook. In the sportsbook, we offer the available price through a betting feed. On the Exchange, the requested position needs enough opposing money to be matched.
Sky247 Exchange Login
Use your existing Sky247 username, registered mobile number or email to complete Sky247 Exchange login.
After signing in, the Exchange area can show:
- available balance;
- Back and Lay prices;
- available money at each price;
- matched orders;
- unmatched orders;
- current liability;

The same account balance is used across eligible Sky247 products. Registration, password recovery and identity verification are covered on the account page.
We permit one personal account per user and require the registered details to belong to the account holder.
Back and Lay Calculations
The risk on a Back order is the stake. The risk on a Lay order is its liability.
Back example
You Back India at decimal odds of 3.00 with a ₹1,000 stake.
Gross profit:
₹1,000 × (3.00 − 1) = ₹2,000
Possible total return:
₹1,000 + ₹2,000 = ₹3,000
If India wins under the market rules, the position produces a ₹2,000 gross profit. If India does not win, the ₹1,000 stake is lost.
Lay example
You Lay India at 3.00 against a ₹1,000 stake.
Liability:
₹1,000 × (3.00 − 1) = ₹2,000
If India does not win, the position produces a ₹1,000 gross profit. If India wins, the ₹2,000 liability is lost.
| Position | Price | Entered stake | Maximum risk | Gross profit if successful |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Back | 3.00 | ₹1,000 | ₹1,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Lay | 3.00 | ₹1,000 | ₹2,000 | ₹1,000 |
The examples in this section show gross results. We explain the applicable exchange commission separately below.
How to Place an Exchange Order
To place a Sky247 Exchange bet:
- Sign in and open Exchange.
- Choose a sport and competition.
- Open an event and market.
- Select the Back or Lay side.
- Choose an available price or enter another permitted price.
- Enter the stake.
- Review the potential profit or Lay liability.
- Confirm the order.
- Open the market position to see the accepted amount.
The market position separates the order into matched and unmatched amounts. Only the matched part forms an active betting position.
Matched and Unmatched Amounts
An order can be matched in full, matched in part or remain completely unmatched.
Suppose you request a ₹2,000 Back order at 2.50, but only ₹1,200 is available.
The position will show:
- ₹1,200 matched at 2.50;
- ₹800 unmatched at 2.50.
The unmatched ₹800 remains open until it:
- finds an opposing position;
- is cancelled;
- is removed when the market changes status;
- reaches the market closing time.
Cancelling the remaining ₹800 does not affect the ₹1,200 already matched.
Open the market position after any slow response or interrupted connection. This is the single place to confirm how much of an order is active.
Available Prices and Liquidity
The amount beside a Back or Lay price shows how much can currently be accepted there.
For example:
| Side | Price | Available amount |
|---|---|---|
| Back | 2.40 | ₹4,000 |
| Back | 2.38 | ₹8,500 |
| Lay | 2.46 | ₹3,200 |
| Lay | 2.48 | ₹7,000 |
A ₹5,000 Back order at 2.40 cannot be matched completely when only ₹4,000 is available at that price.
The remaining ₹1,000 can wait at 2.40 or be submitted at another price where more money is available.
Markets with lower liquidity can have:
- smaller available amounts;
- partial matching;
- a wider gap between Back and Lay prices;
- faster price movement;
- more unmatched orders.
A price displayed on the market is not reserved while the order ticket is open. Another customer can accept the available amount first.
Requesting a Different Price
You can accept an available price or request another one within the market’s permitted range.
For example:
- the best available Back price is 2.40;
- you request 2.50;
- no opposing Lay money is available at 2.50;
- the order waits unmatched.
Requesting a more favourable price can improve the potential result, but it can also reduce the chance of immediate matching.
Once an amount is matched, its accepted price cannot be edited.
Liability and Net Exposure
We reserve funds against the maximum possible loss created by open exchange positions.
A matched Back position normally reserves its stake. A Lay position reserves its calculated liability.
Opposing positions in the same market can reduce each other’s risk.
Suppose you:
- Back Team A for ₹1,000 at 3.00;
- later Lay Team A for ₹1,500 at 2.00.
If both orders are fully matched:
If Team A wins:
₹2,000 Back profit − ₹1,500 Lay liability = ₹500
If Team A does not win:
₹1,500 Lay profit − ₹1,000 Back loss = ₹500
The account calculates exposure from the possible result of the complete market rather than simply adding all displayed stakes.
Part of the balance can also remain reserved against an unmatched Lay order. Cancelling that amount releases its reserved liability.
Sky247 Exchange Commission
We charge a small commission on winning exchange results. The sportsbook does not use the same charge because its margin is incorporated into its offered prices.
We do not state one permanent commission percentage for every account and market. Check the current exchange or account terms before comparing net returns.
Commission applies to the relevant winning result, not separately to every unsuccessful order used to build the position.
A higher exchange price is not automatically more profitable than a sportsbook price. Compare:
- the accepted odds;
- the matched amount;
- Lay liability;
- commission;
- possible net profit.
Trading and Cash Out
You can reduce or rebalance a matched position by placing an order on the opposite side.
Suppose you Back a team for ₹1,000 at 3.00. The Lay price later moves to 2.00.
The theoretical Lay stake needed to create the same gross result on either outcome is:
Back stake × Back odds ÷ current Lay odds
₹1,000 × 3.00 ÷ 2.00 = ₹1,500
If the complete ₹1,500 is matched at 2.00, the position produces a gross result of ₹500 on either outcome.
This depends on sufficient liquidity. Partial matching leaves an uneven position.
Cash Out
Where Cash Out is available, we calculate the opposing trade through the interface.
The offer can increase or decrease as prices move. It may be unavailable when:
- the market is suspended;
- there is insufficient opposing liquidity;
- part of the position remains unmatched;
- the result is being reviewed;
- the product does not support automatic closure.
Confirming Cash Out closes or reduces the eligible exchange position at the displayed value. It does not transfer money through the cashier.
When no Cash Out control is available, a user can still place an opposing order manually, subject to price and liquidity.
Sky247 Exchange Markets
Our exchange schedule focuses on sports such as cricket, football, kabaddi and tennis.
| Sport | Exchange markets |
|---|---|
| Cricket | Match Odds, innings, sessions, Premium and Fancy markets |
| Football | Match Odds, qualification and selected result markets |
| Kabaddi | Match winner and selected points markets |
| Tennis | Match winner, set winner and tournament markets |
The available market list changes with the event schedule and the exchange feed.
We do not include racing rules on this page because racing markets and their non-runner reduction terms are not currently confirmed in our public Sky247 Exchange information. A product should not be described without the settlement rules needed to explain its financial effect.
Cricket, Premium and Fancy Markets
Cricket is a central exchange category for accounts using INR.
The available markets can include:
- Match Odds;
- innings totals;
- session runs;
- over markets;
- player performance;
- Premium markets;
- Fancy markets.
A Fancy position applies only to the line or event named in the market.
Before placing the order, identify:
- the innings;
- the session or over range;
- the run line;
- the named team or player;
- the minimum amount of completed play;
- whether the market continues in-play.
A rain interruption or revised target can affect a session without changing an already determined market from the same match.
Live Exchange Betting
An exchange market can close before the event starts or reopen as an in-play market.
When a market moves into live status, it may:
- cancel remaining unmatched orders;
- suspend while the event state is confirmed;
- reopen with new prices;
- return with lower or higher liquidity;
- stop accepting further positions.
Prices can change immediately after a goal, wicket, point, review or another material event.
Live video and score services may reach the device later than the exchange data. Use the market status shown in the interface to determine whether an order is open.
A matched amount remains subject to the market rules even when the page or stream is closed.
Cancelling, Voiding and Settling Orders
A user can normally cancel only the unmatched part of an open order.
A matched amount cannot be edited or reversed because:
- the price later moved;
- another position became more attractive;
- the event developed unfavourably;
- the wrong prediction was selected;
- the user changed their mind.
We can void an affected position when required by the market rules, including:
- cancellation of an event;
- an incorrect participant or market;
- an evident price or line error;
- a technical acceptance problem;
- insufficient completed play;
- an abandoned event.
A user cancellation and a rule-based void are different actions.
Settlement
We settle a market after confirming the required result.
A position may remain pending while we check:
- the official event result;
- a cricket scorecard;
- player participation;
- a corrected statistic;
- an abandoned fixture;
- whether the market was already determined.
Different markets from one event can receive different settlement decisions.
For example, a cricket toss market can be settled even if the match is later abandoned. An unfinished innings or session market may be void when its required conditions were not completed.
When a market is void:
- the Back stake is returned;
- the Lay liability is released;
- related exposure is removed;
- the adjustment appears in the account history.
We can correct an earlier settlement when the initial result or market data was inaccurate.
Mobile Exchange Access
Sky247 Exchange is available through the Android app, the iOS web app and the mobile website.
On mobile, you can:
- select Back and Lay prices;
- enter stakes;
- view liability;
- monitor matched amounts;
- cancel eligible unmatched amounts;
- review exposure;
- open settled markets.
Closing the app does not cancel an open order. Review unmatched amounts before leaving a live market.
Android installation, iOS access and current system requirements are covered on the Sky247 App page. The current mobile service includes sports betting and Exchange access.
Sky247 Exchange Bonus
Our Fancy Premium offer adds 25% to a qualifying weekly deposit, up to ₹2,247.
The bonus is intended for eligible Premium or Fancy markets in the Exchange section. Before related winnings can be withdrawn, the deposit and bonus must be wagered 5 times.
Example:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Qualifying deposit | ₹4,000 |
| 25% bonus | ₹1,000 |
| Deposit plus bonus | ₹5,000 |
| 5× wagering requirement | ₹25,000 |
The bonus interface determines the qualifying deposit, expiry and eligible markets.
Only settled qualifying activity can complete wagering. An amount that remains unmatched has not completed an exchange transaction.
The Fancy Premium offer is separate from the new-account cashback and other deposit promotions.
Sky247 Exchange Withdrawal
Settled exchange winnings become part of the available Sky247 balance. There is no separate withdrawal channel used only for Exchange.
To withdraw:
- Wait for the market to settle.
- Check the available balance.
- Complete verification when requested.
- Open the cashier.
- Select Withdrawal.
- Choose an available method.
- Enter an amount within the displayed limits.
- Confirm the request.
- Review its status in the transaction history.
Our cashier lists a minimum withdrawal of ₹1,000 and a maximum bank-transfer withdrawal of ₹7,00,000 per transaction. After approval, a bank transfer may be sent within up to one hour, although verification or additional review can extend the total processing time.
The withdrawable balance can be lower than the wallet total when funds are:
- reserved as Lay liability;
- attached to open positions;
- subject to bonus wagering;
- waiting for market settlement;
- under account or transaction review.
The payment page contains the complete method limits. This section covers only how exchange activity affects the amount available for withdrawal.

Questions About Sky247 Exchange
-
Why is the average matched price different from my requested price?An order can be matched in several parts at different available prices. The market history can show the weighted average of those accepted amounts.
-
Can sportsbook and Exchange prices be compared directly?Only after including exchange commission and liquidity. A sportsbook price is offered through a betting feed, while an exchange price may be available for only part of the requested stake.
-
Can I withdraw while an exchange market is open?You can withdraw only the balance not reserved against stakes, Lay liability, open positions or bonus requirements.
-
What happens if no one accepts my requested price?The order remains unmatched until it is accepted, cancelled or removed when the market changes status. It produces no winning or losing result while it remains unmatched.
-
Why does a Lay order require more money than the stake?The entered Lay stake is the amount that can be won from the opposing position. The amount at risk is the liability, calculated as stake × (odds − 1).
